ARRAY’s Rhythm of the Night

ARRAY's signature triple movie experience returned with an ode to Hip-Hop! Attendees came ready to kick it old school with KRUSH GROOVE (1985), take over the ’90s with BELLY (1998) and make a west side connection with STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON (2015). One night-- Three films screened simultaneously on our vibrant Creative Campus in three unique screening areas: crown jewel Amanda Cinema, living-room style Cinema Lounge and under the LA sky in Queen’s Court.

ARRAY hosted our first ever "DP Cypher," a conversation with legendary cinematographer and director Ernest Dickerson about his trailblazing career, moderated by cinematographer Cliff Charles. As a special bonus, filmmaker Michael Schultz surprised guests with an in-person introduction to his classic film KRUSH GROOVE.

The "freshest" dressed received swag bags and ARRAY's founder Ava DuVernay hosted an impromptu dance battle. We heart Hip-Hop!
