ARRAY’s Rhythm of the Night
ARRAY’s Rhythm of the Night took audiences back to the heyday of rhythm and blues and rock and roll featuring three musical films: LA BAMBA, THE FIVE HEARTBEATS, and THE SAPPHIRES. Our inaugural summer triple feature event opened the doors of the Creative Campus for audiences to enjoy one of the films in either the Amanda Cinema, the Cinema Lounge or Queen’s Court under the night sky.
Music by DJ Demi, Latin guitarist Daveed Alvarado, and custom ice cream flavors by Just Luv Creamery.

Los Angeles teenager Ritchie Valens (Lou Diamond Phillips) becomes an overnight rock ‘n’ roll success in 1958. But as his star rises, he becomes haunted by a recurring nightmare of a plane crash just as he begins his first national tour.
THE FIVE HEARTBEATS
THE FIVE HEARTBEATS traces the rise and fall of a popular African American 1950s rhythm and blues singing group. Fame, fortune, and friendships collide in this musical portrait featuring Robert Townsend, Michael Wright, Leon, Harry J. Lennix, and Tico Wells.
In 1968, four talented Aboriginal young women navigate love, friendship, and war as their all-girl group The Sapphires decide to leave their homeland for Vietnam to entertain the US troops during the height of the Australian civil rights movement.
