Slamdance is excited to announce community partnerships with local educational institutions and entertainment organizations including AGBO, ARRAY Education, Compton Unified School District, Directors Guild of America, Harvard Westlake School, Netflix, Occidental College, and the University of Southern California to provide Slamdance locations opportunities to the next generation of filmmakers through its Polytechnic endeavor, offering free education throughout the festival with workshops for young and veteran filmmakers.
Online, viewers are invited to use DuVernay’s free Interactive tools, which will allow viewers access to an “ORIGIN” learning companion that explores how caste shows up in health care, education, technology, the legal system, and even environmental justice.
A deep dive into the themes of Ava DuVernay’s critically acclaimed film, “ORIGIN,” exploring the interconnected issues of caste, racism, sexism and more. The special, produced by ARRAY Filmworks and ABC Owned Television Stations, will be available to stream on Hulu starting July 19. Read More
