LEAP IN 5 YEARS: ARTIST ROUNDTABLE REFLECTION

ARRAY hosted a virtual gathering of the visionary artists commissioned by LEAP, united for the first time to celebrate the initiative’s 5-year journey. Led by LEAP curator Mercedes Cooper, the discussion explored each artist’s creative process, the shared narratives that connect their work, and the profound impact of art as a catalyst for change.

The Law Enforcement Accountability Project (LEAP) is an art and storytelling initiative focused on holding specific police officers accountable for their violence in Black communities. Founded in 2020 by filmmaker Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY in response to the killing of George Floyd, LEAP’s mission is to disrupt the code of silence that exists around police aggression and misconduct.
