INJUSTICE IN FOCUS: A Photo Exhibit With Raffy Lerma

ARRAY collaborated with our neighbors at The Pilipino Workers Center to present a powerful photo exhibit, Pananagutan, and public dialogue featuring the acclaimed work of photojournalist Raffy Lerma. Mr. Lerma’s haunting images document the brutal realities of former President Duterte’s “war on drugs” in the Philippines. Through photographs that confront themes of media suppression, human rights violations, freedom of speech and authoritarian violence, the day’s program served as both testimony and resistance.

Along with a critical conversation on the role of journalism and art in defending truth and democracy, attendees also experienced a remarkable land acknowledgement ceremony as well as a cultural performance to create a space for reflection, remembrance, and the possibility of healing across borders.
