Films by Bradley Cooper, Sofia Coppola, Ava DuVernay and David Fincher will screen in the festival’s main competition

The red carpet may not have as many stars as in previous years, but the 2023 edition of the Venice Film Festival will feature a slew of highly anticipated films.

Movies from Bradley Cooper, Sofia Coppola and Ava DuVernay will debut at this year’s event, despite the industry shutdown.

They are Edoardo De Angelis Pietro Castellitto, Saverio Costanzo, Giorgio Rights, Matteo Garrone and Stefano Sollima. Three women in the competition: Sofia Coppola, Ava DuVernay and Agnieszka Holland

Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein drama “Maestro,” Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla Presley movie, Michael Mann’s “Ferrari,” David Fincher’s “The Killer” and Ava DuVernay’s “Origin” will be making their world debuts at the Venice International Film Festival this fall

On the heels of yesterday’s TIFF announcement, the first major fall festival of the season––Venice International Film Festival––is unveiling its lineup. Taking place August 30-September 9, the competition jury this year is chaired by Damien Chazelle.
