Much of Hollywood will be locked in on the Oscar nominations Tuesday, but some A-listers will be focusing on a bigger picture late that day.
One day after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY will host a National Day of Racial Healing event to examine efforts to end discrimination and injustice.
Centered at the Filipinotown campus the A Wrinkle in Time director opened for her collective last spring, the gathering will feature DuVernay, Judd Apatow and Eva Longoria among the participants. Livestreamed starting at 1 PM PT (see more details here), the conversations and performances also will see Emmy winner Laverne Cox, Wrinkle star Storm Reid, Melissa Etheridge and ex-Georgia House Minority Leader and almost Peach State governor Stacey Abrams participating in the event, on which ARRAY is partnering with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
